Vuosien 1995-2005 historia on toistaiseksi vain englanniksi:
1995-1996
In 1995 the oraganisator of Cyber Generation (Kuhmo), Petri Wallenius, proposed that the bassment of the student union building would be ideal to organise techno parties. The bassment of the student union building was not finished at that time to be used as a party scene.
1997
1997 was the year when all started for real. Two independent party organisers talked about organising techno events. Those two groups were Toni Hemminki & Leve, and the other Heikki Pora & Sami Orava. Not knowing each other, both of the groups put up their own events: Cyber-Y-House (11.4.1997) and Impetuosity (16.4.1997). They desided to team up and under the name of Cyber, which organised 6 events. At the same time “Cyber” negotiated about joining TeMu (University students music society, Teekkareiden Musiikkikerho). When Cyber became a part of Temu, they decided to change the name to TechMu.
1998
The beginning of Y-Club (Nowadays Club Y) was in autumn 1998. It was originally a wednesday-club at the bassment of the student union building. Techmu started to establish it’s role as an underground partyorganisation.
1999
Techno scene had a quite unwanted reputation in Finland and it also showed up in the students union. chemistry between people and prejudice led to the situation where Techmu was prohibitted to use the bassment as the scene of their events. Student union was afraid that party people would use drugs, drink liquire and smash up places. Techmu was prohibited to use the bassment as the scene of their parties. After techno events were on the forbidden list, techmus members organised birthday parties etc, were they played electronic music to the people. When the student union found out that the birthday parties etc were more or less techno events they were extremely pissed about it.
2000
Due to the bad chemistry between Techmu and the student union, techmus activity dropped a bit and they started a new club called Club Olohuone at Laser Pub. The idea of Club Olohuone came from Tomi Virtanen. He organised the first Club Olohuone events with a the Chairman of Techmu, Harri Eronen.
2001
The first Dj Workshops were put up to the people who wanted to learn to master records as a dj. Club Olohuone stayed on techmus party calender and at the end of 2001 Techmu got a new Chairman, Holmberg Karo (Dj Caro²). 2001 was a bit quiet year for Techmu. Caro²’s goal was to bring techmu to the surface from it’s underground reputation and develop the organisation with giving people more clearer picture what kind organisation techmu is. And via the public information get more interested and active people in to the organisation.
2002
A bit quiet year for techmu also. Six events of Club Olohuone and two bigger events: Techmu meets fiktio and pre-christmas party with Housebase.
2003
Caro² attended military service. Techmu was run with the help of Tuomas Lampinen and Jutila Jani. The year was pretty much the same as the year before. Entropy had their 10 year partys @ Helsinki and techmu organised a busride from Lappeenranta and back. Laser Pub came a part of Sodexhos complex and Club Olohuone was moved to another venue, Cafe Labra. At the end of the year Techmu made a deal with a local bar and Club Olohuone moved again to a new location, Ravintola Iltatähti.
2004
Techmu started to be a quite active little organisation with 13 events in a year and people who had earlier attended dj workshops were now playing at techmus events. Techmu had some minor co-operation with Millennium (distributing flyers) and ofcourse with Housebase.
2005
14 events in 2005. Co-operation with Housebase, Senzation, and Horros. The time was ready to bring Y-Club to the public, and the first Club Y in 6 years was held at the basement of the Student Union Building. People were more than happy of Club Y and it was a blast with almost 150 people having fun.
2006
Kolme Club Y -tapahtumaa. Seitsemän Club Olohuonetta.
2007
Techmu alkaa järjestämään Konehuone-tapahtumia, joiden merkeissä juhlitaan kahdeksan kertaa Lappeenrannassa. Kesällä järjestetään myös kolme Konehuonetta Haminassa. Ten Years of Techmu -synttäribileet Kouvolassa, koska Lappeenrannasta ei järjestynyt sopivia tiloja. Miikka puheenjohtajana. Ensimmäiset ug-bunkkeribileet. Club Olohuone löytää uuden, entistä viihtyisämmän kodin Cafe Bar G:stä. Viimeinen Club Y toistaiseksi. Kaiken kaikkiaan erittäin aktiivinen vuosi.
2008
Nikestä uusi puheenjohtaja. Alkuvuodesta viisi Konehuonetta Lappeenrannassa.

In the past years techmu has provided almost all of the deejays to the LUT’s student events. There has been Dj Workshops for over 70 students, well beyond 60 events, co-operation with several party organizations all around Finland and lot of different activities to the members of Techmu / Temu. Techmu is also one of the oldiest and yet active techno organisations in Finland, especially at the eastern side of the country. We have quite long traditions and very active Techmuers to run the organization. Now you know the history. Come and create future with us!
